Laser Keyboard

In class I came across a lager print keyboard on Senior Super Store, and remembered seeing a picture for a laser keyboard in one of my father’s textbooks. That looked like something I would get. Also, in the spirit of the class this product will be loaded with added features.

Product to expand upon:

DESIGN BRIEF
Client:
Twenty-something year olds

General Information:
This is a portable table mounted laser keyboard that will project onto any cable surface that includes a touchpad, Wacom tablet, and piano keyboard. The device can be connected to a computer or smartphone. It can connect to a computer via Bluetooth, special Wi-Fi software, wireless USB plug, hardwired USB cable, or standard keyboard port. It can connect to a smartphone via Bluetooth or the phones USB cable.

Goals and Objectives:
The multi purpose laser keyboard will eventually evolve to serve as a compact all in one spacious solution for communicating with computing devices such as computers and smartphones. As young consumers continue to desire many functions to intergrade into one place, this device is the next step to carrying fewer items on the go. In addition to portability this device will serve as a sanitary alternative to touching public keyboards.

Target Audience:
This product is geared towards the sort of twenty-something year olds that would install few but highly useful apps to their smartphones, and get an FM Transmitter rather than making an intrusive installation in there vehicle. This is also geared to artists that do not have the money for a big stand-alone Wacom tablet, and those who do not have plenty of space in their work environment.

Look & Feel:
The projection keyboard will have a contemporary feel. Should be lightweight a take up little space. Most likely the device will be a rounded box shape with a highly gassy finish.

  1. Sounds good. The only thing I would change or would want some clarification on would be in the General Information, you mentioned "special Wi-Fi software." What would that have to do with Wi-Fi? Wouldn't it be bluetoothing to the computer? But other than that, the entire thing sounds pretty good.

  3. Sorry about that. This device will have bluetooth and wifi output. there are older computers in use by consumers that do not have bluetooth. Rather then they get a new computer, with the software it can use the router to communicate to an application like Microsoft Word. The router and the software are bridges between the device and applications to type into. The ways to connect is an "or" situation.
